Samsung Rolls Out One UI 8 With Multimodal AI and Next-Gen Security

Samsung Electronics has officially announced the rollout of One UI 8, its latest software update designed to make Galaxy devices smarter, more secure, and more personalized. The update debuts with the Galaxy S25 series this week and will soon expand to the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold6, Z Flip6, S24 FE, and other eligible models later this year.

The system now provides personalized, proactive suggestions while strengthening privacy with advanced security measures.

  • Now Bar: Tracks app activity and media progress in real time, now integrated with more third-party apps on the Galaxy Z Flip’s FlexWindow.

  • Now Brief: Delivers daily updates on traffic, reminders, and Samsung Moments, plus personalized content recommendations and health insights from Galaxy Watch.

  • Gemini Live: Offers natural, hands-free communication with AI that understands what users are seeing or watching in real time, even on the Flip’s cover screen.

  • Circle to Search with Google: Provides instant in-game help, character info, and live translations directly on screen.

Next-Level Security

Samsung has introduced KEEP (Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection), which creates app-specific encrypted storage for sensitive data. Knox Matrix adds another layer, automatically signing out devices flagged for risks and sending security alerts across connected devices. Additionally, post-quantum cryptography (PQC) strengthens Wi-Fi security against emerging threats.

  • AI Results View: Displays AI outputs in Split View or Floating View without hiding original content.

  • Multi Window (optimized for large screens): Drag and drop AI-generated text or images into workflows.

US Judge Rules NSO Group Liable for WhatsApp Hack in Landmark Case

  The logo of NSO Group A US judge delivered a significant legal victory for WhatsApp on Friday, ruling that NSO Group Technologies , the Israeli maker of the infamous Pegasus spyware, violated US hacking laws and WhatsApp's terms of service in a 2019 cyberattack. The lawsuit, filed by Meta, WhatsApp's parent company, accused NSO Group of infecting and surveilling the phones of 1,400 individuals over a two-week period in May 2019. These individuals included journalists, human rights activists, political dissidents, and diplomats. In her ruling, Judge Phyllis Hamilton stated that NSO Group had violated both state and federal US hacking laws, specifically the US Computer Fraud and Abuse Act.
